What We Do

SAWC's main goal is assisting women and girls in Boston area public housing to more easily integrate into US economic and social life.


Our work spans economic empowerment, workers’ rights advocacy, sustaining immigrant women’s support networks, mental health and wellness education, political mobilization, and building solidarity through educational activities for children and youth.

Our focus areas are:


  • Connect our communities via ongoing events

  • Develop leadership opportunities via "Chai Addas", education and organizing


  • Address the social determinants of health within our healthcare system

  • Vaccine equity initiative project


  • Provide legal assistance for labor, employment and immigration matters

  • Explore individual and collective income generation activities


  • Coach our community in worker rights, immigration, finance, health, and life skills

  • Boost civic engagement via voting

  • Bring South Asian issues to the wider public
